A NETBALL club in Andover has received sponsorship from a local plumbing company to fund new jackets for its teams.

Gemini Netball Club are a junior club based in Andover, providing netball opportunities for young people within the area, including under eights to under 14s.

The community club, whose ethos is based on having fun and igniting the netball bug at an early age, has celebrated receiving sponsorship from Wolseley UK's Andover plumb centre.

The club was founded by twins Chrissy Bannerman and Sharon Duffield in 2020 through their desire to share their passion, knowledge and experiences to develop netball locally.

Core netball skills are introduced in Gemini's youngest groups from under eight to under 11 through England Netball’s Bee Netball. All players are encouraged to make new friends and have a positive experience of sport based in a fun and structured setting.

Match and positional skills are developed in the under 12 to under 14 groups, with teams competing in junior leagues and tournaments.

A spokesperson for Gemini Netball Club said: "The under 12 and under 13s have had great success in the first season of league games. Wolseley UK's Andover plumb centre has partnered with Gemini netball club to sponsor team jackets for the young netballers participating in league matches.

"The players and coaches would like to say a massive thank you to John Ellis, plumb centre branch manager at Andover, for sponsoring the purchase of the team jackets."
