A WORLD leading logistics company from Andover has announced they will sponsor a Test Valley youth football team this season.

SSI Schaefer, who have their UK head office in Andover, have been named as the kit sponsors for the Upper Clatford Youth FC U11 team.

The team are the third youth football team in the area to receive sponsorship from the modular warehousing and logistics solutions company, who have also sponsored Andover Town Whites U11 and CK Andover U13.

The sponsorship will come as a big boost to Upper Clatford Youth FC, who were originally formed in 1995 by two dads hoping to provide football for their sons.

It is estimated that more than 800 boys and girls have played for the club since its formation.

Club secretary Jennie Handford said: “I’d like to offer a huge thank you to SSI Schaefer for their very generous donation.

“Without such sponsorship help we simply could not survive.”

Mike Alibone, business development and marketing manager (SSI Schaefer) said: “We are truly delighted to sponsor this young team and wish them all the best for the forthcoming season.”
