STOCKBRIDGE committee member Glen Curtis says appointing the ‘right manager’ will be ‘vital’ as the club hunt promotion to the Wessex League.

The club finished second from bottom in the Hampshire Premier League Senior this season after a rocky campaign which culminated in the resignation of former manager Dean Hutchins in February.

The Robins have been guaranteed a place in the Senior Division again next season but the club are hoping with the appointment of a new manager they can quickly turn around their fortunes and challenge for promotion in the upcoming campaign.

Curtis told the Advertiser: “We are an ambitious club and we want to get back to the Wessex League.

“We’ve got the facilities at the club to be in the Wessex League, we are just looking for the right manager who can take us to that level.

“Ideally we would like someone who can bring in local lads.”
