ANDOVER Tennis Table Association held a farewell dinner to honour two long term volunteers who are moving away from the area.

The association recently hosted a dinner at the Royal Oak in Goodworth Clatford as a thank you to long term helpers Phil and Jill Cook, who are moving to Derby.

A statement by the club said: “Phil has been coaching table tennis in Andover for umpteen years – so many in fact none of us know how many - and he has always been a dedicated member of the Association.

Jill will step down as treasurer having done a splendid job of resurrecting the Associations finances to the healthy state they are in today.

“We would like to thank them both for all that they have accomplished.”

After the dinner the pair were presented with an engraved glass vase, a bottle of champagne, two picture collages and a large bouquet of flowers.
