ANDOVER Diamonds maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a fiercely contested 2-0 home win against Trojans. Andover dominated for much of the first half but were unable to turn it into goals.

Collins, Hacker and Evans worked tirelessly in midfield but the chances created for Hoo and Priestley-Cooper were snuffed out by the Trojans keeper.

Andover didn’t have it all their own way in the first half, as Trojans came back strongly.

Last-minute stand-in goalkeeper, Lisa Crack, made some great saves to maintain parity going into the break.

Andover retained the bulk of possession after the break and pressing high whenever Trojans got the ball.

Eventually Andover made the breakthrough when PriestleyCooper skilfully beat the keeper at the near post.

Ten minutes later, Diamonds doubled their lead after Mitchell’s shot was deflected towards the back post where PriestleyCooper smashed the ball home with a spectacular tennis-like volley.
