JOHN Wass’s blistering round of 5-under par earned him the title Charlton Lakes Golf Champion last weekend.
The 63-year-old's victory over Kevin Galliott in the final of a season-long, match-play, knock out competition was recognised with the presentation of the “Champion Golfer” Claret Jug.
The Trophy was donated by Valley Leisure Ltd.
The result was something of a surprise as last week Kevin’s winning medal round was 10 shots better than John’s.
Charlton Lakes Golf Community opened in March 2014 and now has 50 registered members.
This competition is one of several trophy competitions played by the community during the year and is open to anyone who wishes to play golf on the Charlton Lakes par-3 golf course.
It’s free to join and there are no subscription fees.
