ANDOVER Town star Michael Dixon is staying with the club.

That's according to manager Neil Benson, who claims his striker has turned down several recent offers from clubs at a higher level.

Benson revealed to the Andover Advertiser that Dixon was approached by Evo-Stick League Southern side, Sholing FC, earlier this week.

However the striker, who helped push the team to promotion with 34 goals last season, turned down the offer to continue playing his football at the Portway.

Talking about the approach, Benson said: "It's one of several I've had, particularly with regards to Michael Dixon from clubs in the Southern League.

"Rest assured Michael is going nowhere, and will be playing his football at the Portway for the foreseeable future."

The manager also revealed this week that Lewis Benson has turned down several offer and that striker Danny Urry had rejected the opportunity to join fellow Wessex Premier League side, Whitchurch.
