Barnes Ladies 0 Andover Ladies 2

ANDOVER travelled to London needing to win after recent results.

A new formation meant they were more attacking and in the opening minutes were passing the ball well and creating chances.

At half-time Andover were confident they could get something from the game but the opening minutes proved challenging with the defence holding strong.

Eleri Watson was causing havoc on the left and the opening goal came from a mazy run by Lizzie Vincent who crossed for Ellie Ingram to slot home. Ingram created the second goal when she was awarded a penalty stroke which Vincent calmly converted.

Andover Ladies II 2 Eastleigh Ladies 1

ANDOVER Ladies deservedly won their third game of the season after a determined display against Eastleigh.

They started very well dominating the early exchanges and winning numerous penalty corners which they could not convert.

They were made to pay when a break by Eastleigh saw them take the lead against the run of play.

Knowing they were the better side, Andover were not disheartened and Ash Miller found Emily Lord in space, and she fired home for her third goal in two games.

Eastleigh started to be a more attacking force and keeper Dana Shelley made two excellent saves to keep her team in the match going into half-time. Alice Lord had another excellent game on the right of midfield with her pace and power and Andover’s persistence finally paid off when skipper Jacqui West fired home the winner after a well worked short corner routine.

Andover Ladies III 7 Southampton Ladies V 0

ANDOVER put in a dominant performance against struggling Southampton V.

The home side controlled the game from the first minute and were 2-0 up at half-time with goals from Hannah Copping and Amie Bridge from a penalty corner.

Using the first half to work Southampton out, Andover went on to score five more without reply.

Copping scored her second and Karlie Buckley found the net taking her season total to five.

Captain Sarah Rose deflected in an explosive and accurate shot from Ann Collins which was followed up by two tidy goals from Emma Helsdown.

The win puts Andover second in the league.
