The Hampshire Golf Club lady captain Jean Shellard hosted a charity golf day in reasonable weather with just a few drops of rain.

The Texas Scramble as usual provided some good scores and the winning team with net 56.4 was Jacqui Norris, Tony Bee, Steve White and Dave Preston.

In second place was the team of Julie Dixon, Alan Johnston, Sean Norris and Ian Folkes with 56.7 and in third place was Ann Wake, Chris White, John Ward and Mike Withers with 60.4.

The longest ladies’ drive on the 11th hole was Julie Dixon and the longest men's drive on the 18th was Derek Woodman, with Sean Norris winning the nearest the pin prize on hole 14.

The real winner on the day was the nominated charity the Ark Cancer Centre for which a further £451 was raised.
