Andover New Street continued their pre season with two matches against good class Western League sides plus one against Hampshire League Aldermaston with increasingly morale boosting outcomes.

At Corsham Town manager Paul Reidy took a mixed side and the home side’s strength and experience took them to a 6-0 win where Street’s lack of finishing power was evident.

An almost full strength squad went to Western League Gillingham Town last Tuesday and came away with an excellent 1-1 draw. Fielding new signings Shaun Patterson, an Army based winger and midfielder Aaron Black, Street played some nice football with keeper Dave Tasker making some outstanding saves. Craig Harmon gave them the lead on the hour with a flicked header before Gilllingham levelled ten minutes from time.

On Saturday Street came away from Aldermaston with a 4-1 victory having taken the lead midway through the half through Christian Boothe. The home side levelled through an own goal but Harmon set up Redmond Hutchings who netted before the break.

Playing some nice stuff Boothe made it 3-1 before the best move of the game saw Harry Burt score thew goal of the game. Street go to Hampshire League Broughton on Thursday, ko 6.45pm.
