AN AUTHOR who recently hosted a community project to help budding writers and artists promote their work has published an online anthology.

M.J. White, from Abbotts Ann and a postgraduate at the University of Winchester, has been hosting a community project titled Just Breathe in Andover.

Just Breathe is an online e-zine, an anthology of collected art and creative writing. Overall, the project has been aimed at bringing the Andover community together through the arts, with the theme of the works being 'What makes you happy?'.

During November and December, M.J. ran a series of creative writing workshops at Andover College and Chapel Arts Studios focusing on what makes people happy.

The participants took part in writing exercises surrounding the five human senses - what we smell, touch, hear, see, and taste - and how to use different points of view in storytelling.

Those who attended the workshops, and members of The Hampshire Writers Society, were encouraged to submit their creative work to be a part of the anthology.

M.J said: "I believe creativity is instrumental in improving one's mental health and wellbeing.

"The result is an uplifting anthology, a collection of stories, poems, photography, and artwork made up of creative minds from and around Andover.

"So, please take time out of your day, make a cup of tea or coffee, have some cake, put your feet up and Just Breathe."
