A CHARLTON woman who is on a mission to make Andover a menopause-friendly town will host a special event offering advice and guidance to those touched by menopause.

Claire Hattrick, The Executive Menopause Coach, has organised an event at The Lights on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, to talk about all things menopause.

Claire, who was formerly known as Clipboard Claire, lost 10 years of her life to undiagnosed menopause joint pain, leaving her unable to sit, stand or walk.

Andover Advertiser: Claire Hattrick, The Executive Menopause CoachSince the Covid lockdown, Claire has been sharing advice on menopause with people online and visiting companies to educate them on the period of life.

"My passion has always been to help others understand the possible symptoms and impact that menopause can have and how to have a smoother more knowledgeable menopause journey,” the 56-year-old said.

Now, the coach and author is bringing together experts to offer advice to not only those going through the menopause but their loved ones and colleagues.

“This will be an educational and informative evening with lots of Q&As and help to support you and your partner/work colleagues, with a few laughs along the way I’m sure,” Claire said.

“No other town offers a large menopause event like this, let’s make it a regular monthly event.”

Joining Claire will be menopause specialist Dr Carys Sonnenberg, nutritionist Annie Ellis, Louise Field speaking about pelvic floor health, Libby Stevenson on women’s yoga and wellbeing, women’s health coach Kate Rowe-Ham, and Gordon Lott, chief executive and co-founder of Dr Vegan.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to meet the experts, as well as hear from Claire speaking about the importance of understanding menopause.

“We don’t want it to be too serious, this is for the men and women of Andover – it’s not just for women. We want people who are really struggling to get others onboard and come to the event,” Claire added.

“I want nobody else to lose 10 years of their life to undiagnosed menopause.”

Fifty-one per cent of the population will go through menopause, with 25 per cent of women having debilitating symptoms.
