ANDOVER Chamber Choir will return with its annual Christmas concert to fundraise for the town's foodbank.

The choir will perform at St Mary's Church, Andover, on Saturday, December 16, with this year's programme entitled The Holly Bears a Berry.

The concert starts at 7pm, with tickets £12 at the door or £10 if purchased in advance from The Lights or Newbury Building Society. There is no charge for under 16s.

The programme aims to evoke the spirit of a traditional village Christmas. It will include many popular carols including The Holly and The Ivy, Good King Wenceslas and Harold Darkes' beautiful setting of In the Bleak Midwinter

Less familiar pieces such as Down in Yon Forest and The Wexford Carol plus selected readings will take the audience on a journey, back through time to days gone by. 

The programme has several carols for the audience, including a lively medley in which the audience will have fun seeing how many carols they can recognise.

Andover Chamber Choir is a traditional mixed-voice adult group of experienced local singers, dedicated to performing a wide range of smaller-scale choral repertoire from across the centuries. 

Under its new musical director, Andrew Wyndham, the choir remains committed to performing to a high standard and raising as much money as possible for local charities and good causes.
