THIS Halloween, Andover is getting ready for terrifying trails, a devilish disco and painting in the dark.

Families in Andover are in for a treat as Test Valley Borough Council, InAndover from Andover BID with Andover Community Events (ACE) and Chapel Arts Studio (CAS) have been brewing up two frighteningly fun Halloween events.

Saturday, October 28, will see the return of Andover’s Halloween town centre trail. From 11am to 3pm participants can collect an entry form and map for free from the High Street or the Chantry Centre and search for some spooky stickers hidden on shop windows.

Participating shops will give out small craft items to children, to bring back to the InAndover gazebo for crafting and entrants will be able to collect a prize and enjoy some live music in front of the Guildhall.

Also on the same day, Chapel Arts Studio will be opening its doors to run its Day of The Dead in the Dark, which will feature a special glow in the dark painting activity.

Families can visit No 65 High Street from 12pm to 3pm, to create magical masterpieces that will be illuminated throughout the venue.

On Tuesday, October 31, there will be more haunting happenings in store with Andover’s Trick or Treat Street Party.

From 4pm to 6.30pm, families can take part in a trick or treat activity at a special Halloween night market and with participating shops along the High Street.

Little monsters can show off their moves at a ‘devilish disco’ with Andover Radio in front of the Guildhall and there will be a carved pumpkin competition with ACE, where families can bring along their creatively carved pumpkins for the chance to enter.

There will also be prizes in store for the creepiest costumes, so visitors are encouraged to don their best witches’ hats and dust off their broomsticks before heading to the centre of town.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Cllr Phil North, said: “The Halloween trail has been really popular over the past few years and we’re looking forward to working with InAndover to bring this back again. It’s also great to be working with CAS on some brand-new workshops on the Saturday this year.

“The street party will be a great after-school event on the Tuesday and I’m sure families will have a brilliant time taking part in all of the fun, free activities.”

The Andover Halloween events will take place on:

Saturday 28 October, 11am – 3pm

Tuesday 31 October, 4pm – 6.30pm
