AN ANDOVER restaurant has been recognised in a national food awards

Spice Route, which opened in Andover High Street in June, has been selected as the best Indian restaurant for the south region at the Nation’s Asian Food Awards 2023.

The award celebrates culinary excellence and innovation in the Asian food industry.

Spice Route is an independent family-run business by the owners of the award-winning Spices and Spirits in Basingstoke.

Nitin Patil, who owns the restaurant as a joint venture with his wife Anushree and business partners Prafful Nagrare and Chaitali Nagrare, said it’s another feather in the cap of the popular business.

“We thank all our customers for voting us as the best Indian restaurant of the year for the South region. It means a lot to us,” he said.

Spice Route’s menu focuses on using fresh, high-quality ingredients, seasoned with home-ground species.

Each meal is complemented with homemade pickles and preserves as well as a range of signature drinks and desserts.

The awards organisers said they received an overwhelming number of entries from across the nation, showcasing the remarkable talents and flavours of Asian cuisine.

After a fierce competition, the winners were revealed in various categories, representing the best of Asian cuisine.

The competition featured a wide range of categories, including Asian Fusion Restaurant of the Year, Thai Restaurant of the Year, Curry Restaurant of the Year, and many more, allowing participants to showcase their skills and creativity.

A spokesperson for the Nation’s Asian Food Awards said: “We are immensely proud of the talent and creativity exhibited by this year’s winners.
