PATIENTS continue to struggle to access an NHS dentist in Andover, as most practices continue to refuse new patients.

Over 48,000 people live in the town, yet very few dental surgeries are open for new patients on the NHS.

Not one dentist in the area is accepting new adult patients over the age of 18 who require NHS treatment, according to the NHS 'Find a Dentist' website.

The site is regularly updated to provide information and details about local dentists and confirms whether or not a particular surgery is accepting NHS patients.

There are also no dentists in Andover who will accept children under the age of 17 for NHS treatment.

There are, however, four dentists in the area that are open to accepting NHS patients who have been referred by another dentist.

One dentist has not yet provided a recent update on whether they are taking NHS patients.

Four dentists in the area are not accepting NHS patients at all.

The cost-of-living crisis has rendered private dental care unaffordable for many in the town.

The current financial circumstances have left residents with huge bills to pay, as the prices of rent, food, petrol and other essential things continue to soar.
