A Grade II listed house on the River Test in Hampshire is set to open its gardens for a much-loved music event in early September.

Music on the Test is due to take place on September 3 at Houghton Lodge, near Stockbridge. It is the third time the event has been run.

Charities have the opportunity to sign up for the event and have tickets printed which can be sold, with the funds from the ticket sales being split between the event organisers and the charities selling the tickets.

The cost of a ticket is £15, with children under 14 able to attend for free. £5 per ticket goes to the event organiser, with £10 per ticket going to the charity.

So far 15 charities have signed up with over 300 tickets printed.

On the day, the gates open at 12pm so people can look around the walled garden and visit the new Japanese garden before they walk along the River Test.

At 1pm Liza Marshall will be singing for around 30 to 45 minutes.

A marquee is available in the event of rain, but attendees will need to bring their own chairs, tables or gazebos.

A spokesperson for The Rotary Club of Andover said: "The first Music on the Test had 30 charities involved and they raised over £10,000, so hopefully we will get as many this year again.

"We would like to express our thanks to the Busk family for the use of their garden at Houghton Lodge. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible there on September 3."
