A THERAPY centre in Andover has encouraged people to get involved in volunteering to mark Volunteers Week.

I Can Therapy Centre is owned and operated by Valley Leisure and participated in Volunteers Week, which ran from June 1 to June 7.

This year marks the 39th year of Volunteers Week, and I Can Therapy Centre joined thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.

With this year’s theme of ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ charities and organisations hoped to encourage people to get involved in volunteering in whatever way works for them.

The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so taking the time during Volunteers Week to celebrate their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society has never been more important.

Sue, who is a volunteer at I Can Therapy Centre, said: "I volunteer because I love to see people smile when they have progressed or achieved more than they thought they ever could do when they first came to I Can."

I Can Therapy Centre’s manager, Ann Jones, said: “Volunteers Week is a chance to Celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. We cannot thank them enough, for their willingness to give up their time and be part of the positive energy that ripples through the centre. Our customers and team gratefully appreciated all that they do."
