A ROAD in Andover will be closed for a week to allow for work to be carried out.

Hampshire County Council has said that Bere Hill Crescent will be shut from Friday, June 2, until Friday, June 9, to allow for carriageway repairs.

The work is part of the council’s long-term strategy, Operation Resilience, to make Hampshire’s roads more resilient to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic.

The council has said that work will not take place at the weekend.

A council spokesperson added: “Vehicle access for residents and businesses will be maintained wherever possible.

“Pedestrian access will always be available.”

They added: “There may be times when works have to be postponed at short notice, for example due to an adverse weather forecast. Any significant changes to the scheduled work dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located on site.”
