RESIDENTS looking for things to do this May half term have been invited along to The Lights in Andover.

Stinky Beards, The BFG and a Fantastic Mr Fox workshops will be presented by storyteller Amanda from Merry Go Round Storytelling.

Kids of all ages are invited to take part in multiple workshops across the May half-term week including the Twits Stinky Beard Workshop where the kids will craft their very own Mr Twit Beard to take home with them.

They’ll add revolting stuff to their beards, whilst Amanda keeps the kids on track with her stunning storytelling.

The team at The Lights have even had a go at creating their own beards in the lead-up to the event. This workshop is on Wednesday, May 31 at 10.30am and is for ages four and over.

In the Fantastic Mr Fox Puppet Making Session, children will take their creations home with them. Mr Fox is kind, clever and fearless and the kids will be encouraged to be fearless with their creations on Wednesday, May 31 at 1.30pm.

The whole week of Roald Dahl-inspired workshops will culminate in The Lights arena, with The Big Friendly Gigantic Picnic Party on Friday, June 2 at 11.30am.

The arena will be transformed into a whizz-popping world of imagination, jam-packed with marvellous music and storytelling from Amanda. This picnic is indoors, so whatever the weather, it will go ahead.

The Lights has plenty of soft seating in their arena space, and families are invited to share the experience together.

Those looking to book can do so by calling The Lights Box Office on 01264 368368 or alternatively in person, The Lights, West Street, Andover, SP10 1AH or online at thelights.org.uk/whatson.
