TEST VALLEY drivers will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A303, from 8pm January 18 to 6am May 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Parkhouse, slip road and lane closures for resurfacing work.

• A34, from midnight, February 1 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): abnormal Load - Swansea to Southampton.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A303, from 8pm May 15 to 6am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Thruxton Circuit to Thruxton Village, Lane closure for electrical works.

• A303, from 8pm May 16 to 6am May 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Picket Twenty to Hundred Acre, Lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
