A SHOW celebrating the music of the 60s is bringing its popular set to Andover.

The Zoots will be performing and headlining on the night, called The Sounds of the 60s.

The Zoots are a band that focus on music from the 60s and perform and recreate music from the decade in their live shows.

The band was founded by lead singer and guitarist, Jamie Goddard.

He started the group in 2009 with his dad Martyn as the band's manager and since then The Zoots have performed over 1,000 shows across 35 countries.

The show will take place at The Lights in Andover and will see The Zoots play all the top hits.

Jamie spoke about the upcoming show and why he loves performing all the classic songs from that time.

He said: “The fans go there to make memories, put a smile on their face and by the end to be up and dancing.”

Being a Wiltshire band, The Zoots love to play closer to home like Andover.

Jamie, from Chiseldon, said: “I love to play in front of crowds closer to home, however, I don't get to do it much.”

Jamie explained why he loved recreating great songs from this era of music.

He said: “Growing up there were all 60s vinyl records around from great bands, such as The Who, The Beatles and the Small Faces.”

Some of the songs included in the show will be Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison and Big Girls Don't Cry by Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons and even Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley.

The Sounds of the 60s has been selling out and headlining venues from the Palladium to Old Trafford.

In August the Corporate Live Wire Innovation and Excellence Awards presented the group with the 2022 Band of the Year award while the five-piece outfit received the UK best pop music cover band award at the Global Entertainment Awards in 2018.

The Berkshire-born guitarist has also made two albums for Warner Brothers and worked with The Searchers and Gerry and the Pacemakers.

However, it's not the first taste of music success for Jamie.

He has two albums published with Warner Brothers with some of the songs making it onto adverts for Nokia and OKI and the TV series ‘I Love the Millennium’.

Some of Jamie's other songs were also used in the Chinese teaching curriculum to help students learn the English language easier.
