A UNISURED driver from Ludgershall has been fined and handed penalty points after a near-miss collision.

Lewis Jeremy, of Coronation Road, on August 17, last year, drove a Seat Ibiza on the A3057 without due care and attention.

He overtook a van at speed whilst there was an oncoming vehicle, causing the oncoming vehicle to have to brake to avoid a collision.

Jeremy also had no insurance at the time of the incident.

During a hearing held at Aldershot Magistrates' Court on April 24, magistrates fined Jeremy £143 and endorsed Jeremy's driving licence with six penalty points.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to both driving offences.

On top of this Jeremy was ordered to pay court costs of £110 and a surcharge fee of £114.
