Penton Park is a Grade II Listed country house on the edge of Penton Mewsey, and is listed on the market by Savills.

Dating from the early 19th century with mid-19th century additions, it was once the country seat of the master builder William Cubitt, brother of Thomas Cubitt, the pair are famed for building much of Pimlico and Belgravia in London.

The Cubitts renovated the former hunting lodge, adding wings and changing the aspect of the house. It was requisitioned as a recuperation hospital for US airmen during World War II and then became a boarding school for much of the 20th century.

The current owners, the Rolfe family, have been at Penton Park for 20 years.

The house is currently arranged so that the first and second floors provide family accommodation, while the ground and lower ground floors are used for James’s Place daycare centre.

There are a total of nine bedrooms across the first and second floors, with a substantial lower ground floor including the original kitchen and traditional wine cellar.
