A LORRY driver arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in Leckford has been re-bailed.

The 54-year-old, from Tidworth, was arrested back in April following the death of motorcyclist Alan Couper.

Mr Couper, was riding on Stockbridge Road, near Leckford, on April 13, when he and another motorcyclist were involved in a collision with a lorry.

The Southampton resident died at the scene.

The other motorcyclist was taken to Southampton General Hospital with minor injuries.

The lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was originally bailed until June 8.

This was later extended until August 17.

Police have now re-bailed the man until September 27, pending further enquiries.

Following news of Mr Couper's death, family members paid tribute to the "loving grandfather".

In a statement, the family said: "Alan was a loving, gorgeous husband, fantastic supportive father and grandad who was taken from us while he was enjoying one of his favourite pastimes.

"We will miss him so much. We loved him with all our hearts. Life will never be the same without him."
