A MENTAL health group in Andover has received a £250 cheque a from medical insurance company.

Andover Dementia Action Group (AnDAG) was given the donation towards keeping the profile of living well with dementia high.

AnDAG is part of Dementia Friendly Hampshire which is a charitable organisation which is committed to raising awareness of dementia.

Last year, Andover was awarded Dementia Friendly Town, after shops, businesses and services committed to training their staff and making their premises and service as dementia friendly as possible.

Sarah Ford, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, said: “We’re pleased to offer our support to Andover Dementia Awareness Group.

“To help raise awareness of dementia, we recently held a number of Dementia Friends Information Sessions for our people across our office locations run by one of our own volunteer employees, Sarah Warwick.”
