EMERGENCY services are dealing with an incident on the train line between Basingstoke and Woking which is causing major delays for commuters.

Trains travelling between Salisbury and London Waterloo will now terminate at Basingstoke railway station.

Passengers traveling from Waterloo to Weymouth will be diverted to an alternative route, as trains are not stopping at Winchester or Southampton Airport Parkway.

A statement on Southwest Trains website said: “Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Basingstoke and Woking, meaning the line between the stations is currently blocked."

National Rail is predicting delays until at least 12 noon.
