A DAY of motor displays, music and markets will be taking place over this bank holiday weekend raising money for local charities.

Andover and Anton Rotary Clubs are hosting the New Andover Show at Thruxton Circuit on Sunday, 30 August from 2pm until late.

Throughout the afternoon attractions for all the family will include John Wall and Son’s Fabulous Family Funfair, a climbing wall and a crafts and farmers market along with other stalls and stands.

There will also be a variety of displays and exhibits including vintage cars, motorcycles and helicopters, racing, supercars, Hot Rod and Mod’ed car displays and vintage steam traction engines and tractors.

The emergency services, armed forces and Hampshire and Isle of Wight (HIOW) Air Ambulance are also putting on demonstrations.

Live music is set to be played throughout the day before a rock concert in the evening featuring Reload and tribute act Call me Blondie.

The race track will see a multi-class Soap Box Derby and local sports clubs, pubs, schools and colleges, businesses and youth groups are all invited to take part.

Cycling events for all the family, as well as for cycling clubs, will also feature on the race track helping Rotary clubs across the country to raise £1,000,000 for prostate cancer research.

The event has been a collaboration between last year's presidents of both Andover and Anton Rotary Clubs, Igor Obrastsoff-Rutinsky and Mike Walton.

Charities set to benefit from the fundraising include Andover Young Carers, The Countess of Brecknock Hospice and the HOIW Air Ambulance.

On the day, adult tickets are £5, children £3 and family tickets £15. Advance sales are £3 for adults, £2.50 for children and £10 for families available from The Lights, Valley Leisure, Ben's Dry Cleaners and Crisp & Clean.
