AN Andover school has bowled over a charity with its generosity.
St John the Baptist School raised more than £2,400 for the NSPCC through a series of PE-based activities.
The children in Years R, 1 and 2 took part in an “activate marathon”, Years 3 and 4 did circuit training and Years 5 and 6 did basketball.
The fundraising followed an assembly by NSPCC charity representative Emma Le Maitre where she told the children of the work her charity does.
She then returned to the school to collect the cheque.
Sue Corney, the school’s administrator and finance officer, said: “We have never raised this much on one charity event ever. We raised £2,428.30. For a school our size it is absolutely fabulous.”
