NEW crash statistics have revealed on which day of the week there are most crashes on Andover’s roads – as well as the most common hour of the day that they happen.

Crashes peak on Fridays, with 17.4 per cent of incidents, followed by Tuesdays. The safest day of the week is Sunday with just 11.2 per cent of crashes.

The most dangerous hour of the day is 5pm, followed by 8am. There are nearly as many crashes in the 10pm hour than at 11am and 1pm.

Yesterday we revealed that North West Hampshire has suffered more casualties than Winchester, Basingstoke and Salisbury by population since 2008.

NW Hants is ranked 497th out of 632 constituencies, with first place indicating the highest rate relative to population.
Winchester is ranked 610th - making it one of the safest areas in the UK - while Basingstoke is 569th and Salisbury 513th.

The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety and the Direct Line Group have published this 2015 Parliamentary Constituency Road Safety Dashboard that, for the first time, reveals how the casualty rate (by population) varies across the parliamentary constituencies in Great Britain.

Using information from Department for Transport statistics between 2008 and 2013, the dashboard presents information on casualties for residents of the constituency, rather than looking only at collision locations.
