A GROUP of youngsters have been handed a grant by parish chiefs to help complete a Duke of Edinburgh course.
The team of 34, from Testbourne Community School in Whitchurch, have been awarded £300 by Overton Parish Council to help fund the first-aid training of volunteers and to purchase new equipment for the group.
Each training course costs around £250, with equipment costs taking the total to about £600.
The council agreed to provide half of the funding to the group, with 14 of the students living in the Overton area.
