A CELEBRATION of motor vehicles raised nearly £1,500 for charity.
Sparsholt College’s event proved a huge success with car fans and with Macmillan Cancer Support, who were beneficiaries of the show.
Scores of rally cars, kit cars, sports cars, bikes and vintage vehicles were on display throughout the day, while stalls, raffles and family activities provided plenty of other entertainment.
Richard Martin, Macmillan’s interim fundraising manager, met the college’s motor vehicle team at their brand new workshops to collect the £1,450 raised on the day.
Organiser and motor vehicle lecturer Dave Andrews said: “A friend and supporter of the department is recovering from cancer so we were keen to organise an event which celebrated motor vehicles while also giving something back.
“This was the ideal opportunity for people to show off their cars and for others to enjoy the wonderful, varied world that is all things motorised.
“Macmillan Cancer Support was the ideal charity to benefit and we were very proud to be able to make such a sizeable donation to them.”
