NOT many activities in life are free but on Saturday afternoon Aster communities provided an exception when their community fun day proved a big hit with locals – especially those with plenty of zip.

On offer was wrestling – provided you donned one of the special sumo suits – while for those with a serious surfeit of energy there was a chance to take on a piece of thick elastic in the bungee run.

All the fun took place on the Ludgershall Town Council-owned recreation ground at Deweys Lane.

For those who wanted to take things at a more leisurely pace there was also a barbecue, icecreams, arts and crafts, a bouncy castle, Castledown Radio and its Really Red Roadshow, and Amesbury Brass Band.
